Default Databases slow to close

I recently moved my database to a microsoft Server 2003 from a win98 server. Since it has been moved my vb6 project which accesses the database is terribly slow to close the databases. Any suggestions. My guess is it is some sort of security issue. I have several apps which access the same data. On the same machine the last app to close is slow to close. The rest are fine and the apps do not know that one another are open.

Data access and Opening the databases are acceptably fast.

Thanks in advance
