I'm not to sure if I follow totaly. If you are trying to access the dsn across the network so that the computer your are currently running on uses your access db as its system DSN, then you need to go to control panel. Now depending on your OS, you need to find "Data Source (ODBC)", try under Administrative Tools. Once there you select the system dsn tab and the add a new system dsn, and follow the steps from there.

As for creating a copy of your access db, copy and paste, though this cannot be done if the db is open, as far as I know, Soz.
