Controls get resized automatically

Hi,
I have a inherited form, any modification in the appearance of the form (like Changing Background colour, Adding Tooltip etc) is causing the controls to resize automatically, which should not happen.

The only property that is overridden in the parent form is that of the Font, I have set it to Tahoma 10pt.

Any suggestions ???
