Default Introductory Statement

Thanks for this opportunity to participate in this forum. I am a programmer who had just got a Degree out of University. My name is Mote Kabiriera and can code. However, I need more practical applications of professional programming. I have a strong background with Visual Basic language and still is very optimistic about it. I have the Visual Studio 2005 IDE with me and am now playing with it. Is there a way that I can learn the platform directly and fast?

I would appreciate your directions.

Mote
