Default creating cached version of reports

I have a dashboard report that runs pretty slowly. The report runs in SRS 2000. Various managers may run the report throughout the day, but the data displayed on the report only needs to be as current as of that morning. I've looked into creating a snapshot of the report, but this does me no good as the report has a "sales center" parameter which can vary depending on which managers are running the report. Once I turn snapshots on, the users can't change the parameter for which to run the report, only the default parameter will be selected. I was going to go with simply creating a cached version that gets created once someone runs the report in the morning, and would expire at the end of the day. My manager doesn't like this, as the report would still run slowly for the first person to run the report in the morning.

My question is this....Is there a way for me to auto-generate the cached version(s) of the report so that the first person to run the report in the mornings sees the cached version automatically? I tried creating a subscription, but that doesn't appear to create the cached version, only running manually works. Thanks in advance....

Also, I just found out that this can be accomplished using a data-driven subscription. However, this is only available on SQL Server Enterprise edition. We are running standard edition. Anyone have any ideas?
