Default Sharepoint 2007 - Shared Services Provider problem

Hi,

I'm currently trying to finish off an installation of Sharepoint 2007 on a small server farm:

 - Database server: Win2003 R2 (x64), SQL 2005
 - Frontend server: Win2003 R2 (x86), Sharepoint 2007

All has gone fine (with all the new hardware analysed, setup etc.) but I'm now stuck on creating the 'Shared Services Provider'.

Basically, we have created 1 AD account to do everything. This has been given Administrator privileges on the 2 Servers for the farm, used for installing SQL2005 and Sharepoint 2007. Therefore, I'm using this also for ALL servcies/connections for the Sharepoint 2007 setup. Yes, I know you can go ahead and create separate accounts but we are going with a simple setup to start off.

Anyway, on creating the 'Shared Services Provider' it doesn't seem to find/recognise this AD account whatsoever. I've created 2 nice new app pools/sites to use for SSP Admin and MySite but on trying to submit my SSP info it fails to 'Provision' the ssp due to the account issue.

I notice that the 'format' of the account info is in the 'AD' input box format - on browsing our AD accounts it picks the named account fine. I've even tried typing it in different ways (with/without domain, with/without password) but nothing works.

Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you need more info please yell! :D

Thanks

Mark
