Default Modifying web page using css and html


I'm a new developer and a beginner user of sharepoint and I'm currently using sharepoint 2010. I just have a question regarding the site that I'm recently creating. Here's the image of the webpage that I'm trying to work on:


and what I need to do is to make this web page look like this:


What I'm trying to say here is, to format the body of the page that will look like the format of the page on the second link. If you will notice on the first link, all the information where only aligned on a single row with multiple columns. What I'm trying to acheive here is to have a content that will be formatted or will look like the page on the second link that I posted.

Hope you can help me with this one. If you have a suggested link on how I can solve this, you're welcome to post.
