Default NVL(var1,var2)

Hi,
  Can any one tell me what the function nvl(var1,var2) returns?

NVL(v1,v2) is a function implemented in Oracle. Its equivalent in SQL Server is ISNULL(v1,v2).

The function returns the value of v1 if v1 is not NULL, otherwise it returns the value of v2.
