hi all.. I'm looking for a way to convert a datetime column into a binary, this is done for the porpoise of showing data... if the column has a date inserted then the binary should be true, it will be false in the case the date is null.. I'm using MS SQL 2005 express.. Any idea would be great...

You can use the bit datatype to represent a binary boolean value to your client software:

SELECT CAST(CASE WHEN yourdatecolumn IS NULL then 0 ELSE 1 END as bit) as yournamedbooleancolumn ...
