Default update records by the loop

HI,

How can update the sql records by help of sql query (loop) ?

I have thousand of records, I want that by sql query records update
What sql query will use to update the records. Records to update like this.

Old records TO updated records
------------- ------- --------------------
PLT1 to PLT1.TIF
PLT2 to PLT2.TIF
PLT3 to PLT3.TIF

And so on…

What sql query will use ? please help

Hi

You dont need a loop to do this you can use the following :-
Update <table>
set oldrecords = oldrecords + '.TIF'
