Default Analysis Manager

Hi everybody,

I started to study the Analyses Services component of SQL Server 2000. I am working on an XP Professional platform.

Following the onLine tutorial, I created an ODBC System Data Source, I made the connection and created a cube. Everything ran smoothly, and during the cube design I could browse the various tables of the database - only it was impossible for me to browse the data, by right clicking the cube name and selecting "Browse Data" - every time I tried, the answer was "Unable to browse the cube 'Sales'. Unspecified error"

Is it possible that I have installed an older version of the Analysis Services, with some nasty bugs in it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Pierre

Hi all,
I found the solution - one has to install the Service Package 3 (or 3a) on the SQL Server, and on the Analysis Services (each one needs a separate installation of the corresponding SP3 component). After that, Analysis Services can be used very nicely.
