Default Oracle's Analyze Table equivalent ?

Hi,

Below is an Oracle query used for cost optimization purpose :

analyze table test estimate statistics sample 2500 Rows;

Is there any equivalent for the above in SQL Server ?

HI,

SQL Server provides Execution Plan to analyse the query cost. You can use the Query plan. Before running a Query use this:-

set showplan_all on

this will show execution plan to analyse the query.

set showplan_text on

this will show execution plan to analyse each query.

U can also see graphical execution plan create by SQl Engine.
In Query Ananlyser click Query >> Show Execution plan.

Now u will find another tabbed page added at bttom of query analyser which will show graphical plan for each query u execute.

U can see in details about Execution plan in Books online.
