Not sure what you mean exactly. Can you be more detailed.

If you want to do server registration from query analyzer by using sp_addserver

sp_addserver
Defines a remote server or the name of the local Microsoft® SQL Server™. sp_addserver is provided for backward compatibility. Use sp_addlinkedserver.

Syntax
sp_addserver [ @server = ] 'server'
    [ , [ @local = ] 'local' ]
    [ , [ @duplicate_ok = ] 'duplicate_OK' ]

Hello Jaime:

EM allows you to create databases and/or link to databases by completing a registration wizard

However, EM is only available on a system with SQL2000 installed!

What if you are roaming and need to add a table and/or colums in an existing table, away from home office?

Is there a EM equivalent that can be launched from IE that would allow you to connect to a database hosted by a third party?

Thanks
Mickey

There are many options that can be used to connect and manage SQL 2000. To connect to IE you can use the SQL web administrator.
