HI,

I installed a new server and sql server on that. Old server was contaning a database which are mapped to a particular login (SQL login).

Now I restored the backup of the database on new server. It is not allowing to add the newly created login to database. It says "user already exist". I know this is the problem of SID. In New instance SID is changes and so its not mapping the user to database.

Can someone please tell the stored procedure to map the SID.

What you want to do is mapped the logins to the new server from your old server, follow this link step by step. The user exists but are not associated with a login.
