i am struggling with a problem. i am reading some tables on server1 and i need to create a table on server2 under db2 as table2.
part of the reading 'some tables' on server1 also involves reading a particular table on server2 and doing bunch of case statement.
is this possible?

yes sir,

first, i don't have any permission to touch the db on server1. i look at three tables and select some fields depending on certain criteria. the most important field that will be created can be either soft/int/ncan . the problem is the counts for ncan resides on server2. also, the end table has to reside on server 2.i hope it makes sense

How are you accessing information on (server1, server2) If you do not have access to the database to make changes, do you have read or write permission.

What I mean by access to the servers: how to do you query the database (connections type;ODBC, enterprise manager (OLEDB)

Can you request from the database administrator create a linked server and give you the permissions to complete your task?
