Default Replication vs. Linked-Servers

I have a DB set up with a linked-server to a FoxPro DB to provide real-time data to my users. Would it be more efficient to use replication to replicate the FoxPro DB over the SQL?

The goal is to maintain real time data.

Thanks,
Phil

Default

From researching this it looks like I need to set up linked servers to achieve replication.

Does anyone know if replication can be done without the use of linked servers?

Thanks.
