Default How do I change the Server Date and Time

Hi,

If someone can help me in changing the SQL server's default date and time, either through Query analyser or through EM, or by both means if possible.

Thanks much!

Doesn't SQL get its time from the OS?

Peter,

I too had the same thought, and tried so before posting it here, But I was not seeing any difference when I changed the OS time and gave a select getdate() in QA. So thought I would take advice from here.

But the problem was with the system itself. It's clock was in synch with other server. so though I change, it gets reset to current date and time.

Thanks much...

LOL. Yeah, that will get you every time. Always good to make sure that the server serving the master time is set right. :)

Yes, but that master server is not in my control, as it is under IS&T's. But didnot know these guys have made a time synch on all systems.

Sometimes, things doesn't strike one's mind. ;)

Instead I had a variable to have different dates and tested my code. It worked fine.

Thanks much.
