It's possible. I think you would have to have serious resource issue for auto close to manifest an issue.
If the database has been closed, no users are logged in, the timeout for auto close has expired and all user resources have been released. The next user to login will take on some overhead to reallocate the resources. But, I can't imagine the resources would be substantial. Even on a laptop, the first user logging in after a restart does not experience a delay of more than a few seconds, unless the service has not been started.
When in doubt, test. Try both situations.
