Forms or a solution for end user data entry?
Hey folks,
Just wondering if anyone can suggest a solution (preferably free) for end users to enter data into SQL Server. I have some end users who need something simple, just basic forms really, maybe something web-based as it would have to be done remotely.
To explain the scenario further, this is what we have set up: a small standalone box running Server 2005 on Windows 2000. I can only access this box via "VNC Server for Windows", and I had initally built a little Access app on the standalone box to use for data entry. However, I am loathe to start giving the VNC program out to the users, and would prefer if they could use my Access app from their own desktops and talk to the box. Been unable to make this happen thus far, keep getting the error:
"[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied"
Can anyone offer some suggestions as to how I can get them entering data? I would appreciate hearing how you guys do things.
Thanks in advance.
