Default SQL Server Install fail

Hi all,

I have a problem that maybe someone can help me with. I had SQL Server 2008 Express and SSMS intalled working like clockwork, no problems. I then tried to install Reporting services and get the following error.

"The MOF Compiler could not connect with the WMI Server. This is either because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI Server to start".

When I go to use my old install it fails, uninstalling my old copy and trying to reinstall also fails with the error above. I read that I need to uninstall everything then reinstall just the engine, then the anaysis services etc. That gives me the same error. Everything now fails whereas four days ago everything was fine.

Can anyone help?
