Default SQL Server error '80040e14'

I'm having a problem with an ASP, VBscript, SQL Server combination

Code:
Set rsRecs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
rsRecs.Open strSQL,adoCon,adOpenStatic,adLockReadOnly,adCmdText
strSQL contains:-

Quote:
quote:dbo.OS_ClientSearch('Y','COLLIN','GEN','20/10/1976','LUXEMBOURG')

Error Returned

Quote:
quote:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Quote:

Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'Y'.
Procedure OS_ClientSearch has EXEC permission for user
Parameters:-
Code:
CREATE PROC dbo.OS_ClientSearch
                @EXACT_FLAG varchar(1),
                @SURNAME VARCHAR (254),
                @FORENAMES VARCHAR (254),
                @DOB VARCHAR (254),
                @COUNTRY VARCHAR(254)

I've tested the procedure using:-

Code:
EXEC dbo.OS_ClientSearch 'Y','COLLIN','GENEVIEVE','20/10/1976','LUXEMBOURG'
and the procedure works fine.

What is going on - as far as I can see, the ASP code should work!!

HELP!!!

J.

OK, couldn't see the wood for the trees...

The particular tree in question was adCmdText should have been adCmdStoredProc

Ah, well...
