Default Which is preferred, ODBC or OLEDB?

I use an application variable in my global.asa for users to connection to the SQL Server 2000 database, on the same box as IIS.

The connection string is:
"Driver={SQL Server};Server=SERVER_NAME;Database=DB_NAME;Truste d_Connection=yes" which is ODBC.

Is there a benefit to using OLEDB instead? (Provider=SQLOLEDB.....)

Thanks!

If there is a driver available for your datasource, use Oledb. As SQL Server can be accessed through Oledb, use that instead of ODBC.

Take a look here: http://www.adopenstatic.com/faq/whyOLEDB.asp for more details.

Cheers,

Imar
