Default Usercontrol, .NET, Combo Box and UITypeEditor

Hello netters,
I am a complete and hopeless novice to .NET.
I recently created a UserControl which contains tickboxes, text boxes and a Combo Box.

As I am sure you have anticpated I have had trouble trying to populate the ComboBox at design time. From what I understand from the research I need to use UITypeTypeEdit class. I have absoletely no idea how to implement this and have found no examples of code on the web. Can anyone help me please?

If you have examples that allows you to fill a ComboBox at design time on a usercontrol I would be most interested for a cut and paste.
I am using VB.NET

Many thanks for any help you can show me,
