MSMQ with FormatName

Hi all,
I have some question about MSMQ.
Is there anyone know how to use QueueInfo.FormatName?
I found out that sometime may need to use DIRECT=TCP...while sometime using DIRECT=OS? is there any different?

For instance:
FormatName:Public=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001
or
FormatName:DIRECT=TCP:IPAddress\QueueName
