I am using winsock control in VB to connect a device. When i connect at form_load event it is working fine. But the same program when i put in windows start up it is not working. The dataArrival event is occuring before the connection establishment and 'Runtime error' is coming. If anyone knows about it please help me.

put an error handling...
set a global variable when the connection is establishe, and check if that variable is set before doing anything else
