Default Toolbar Control and HotKeys

Does any one know how to activate a Toolbar from MS Windows Common Controls 6.0 by using HotKeys in an MDI form project? It seems such a simple thing but I'm just not getting it. For history this project has a parent form frmParent that has a Toolbar and StatusBar control on it. There are going to be 4 or 5 child forms when the project is completed. The Toolbar Hotkeys work fine when no child form is open because focus remains on the Toolbar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanx in advance for your assistance.
