Hi,
I want to insert system date and time into a sql server database in vb.I have to use the function Now(). and my record in database is of the type datetime.but the format of the function Now() is differenet from datetime.what can I do to cast the result of Now() function to datetime?

Now.ToShortDateString() should work for you.

Thats not a SQL problem that is a problem with your code in VB somewhere.

How can I create an object of the function Now?
because my error is that I have to create an object of something.

Now() is, more or less, an a datetime object that is built into Visual Basic so I do not know why you are getting that error.
