I have two forms that make up a single screen. The first form acts as a menu and the second acts as a display area for whatever was selected (actually it does a form.show of what was selected). My first form has a menu on it plus a few other fields.

When an option is selected and focus is moved to the second form the first menu form becomes grayed out until someone clicks on it to regain focus.

Is there any way to stop this color change?

according to my knowledge, there is no way to activate two forms at a same time. So when the other form is focused, automatically the menu form loses the focus and its deactivated until you focus it on back...

I don't know what was the logic you have behind this approach of having menu form and showing the content in another form. YOu could have used MDI style and create a main menu and when you click and of the sub menu items its shows inside the parent MDI form. In this case you do not lose focus on main menu and the child form...
