I know this is not [u]THE</u> forum in which to post this question, but I don't really see one that is at WROX, so . . .

I was loading AutoCAD, and told the process to include AutoDesk's ‘Vault.’ I didn’t realize that this would require a disk I didn’t have.

Vault uses SQL Express. SQL-Ex didn't get loaded. Now, every time the machine is restarted it tries to load SQL Express.

There is nothing that is doing this in Documents And Settings\<user>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. I presume it is in the Registry, but I cannot seem to find where.

Ideas? Specific expertise? All are welcome...

Just a thought....

Look for the services, that which has set automatic and look for those dependencies that also starts when one application starts..

might, if you disable them, it may get fixed...
