Default how do i find out if the .net framework is install

Hi
how do i find out if the .net framework is installed on my server? and which version is installed?

Two ideas, either check if this registry key is present
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramewor kor check for %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder.
Neither infallible...
