Default VB 97 vs VB.net

I have a Access 97 VBA program that works very well. Unfortunately/Fortunately our company is upgrading all systems to XP/Pro and would like to install VB.NET. How hard would it be to convert my current Data Base to VB.NET?

Not knowing your program or you level of expertise with VB.NET it's impossible to judge how difficult it would be to convert a VBA application to VB.NET. But given that VB.NET is lightyears more advanced than VBA, you should have little difficulty getting the code in a VBA application to work in VB.NET, you just need to convert it. It's certainly a lot easier than if you were trying to convert an AS400 RPG program to VB.NET.

Thank's for your answer. When you say "you just have to convert it"
what do you mean? Do I just copy over the Font end and Back end to the new system and should work. Or will I need some Significant code changes?

Again, it all depends on the complexity of the code you have. It's never so easy as just copying it over. You are going from a system that is a single "application" (that is, the database and the VBA code are in the same file) to a completely different architecture. It will very likely require some thought and possible re-design.

Moving from an access application to a VB application won't be "simple"..

That said- there is no reason you can't run Access 97 on a machine with .NET....
