Daniel, you are right of course, Brian's links did provide the inspiration for your code that I "borrowed" :-)
Now my quest is to take the info that is brought into the dataset from the CSV file and build a new table and pass that into a new Access database. The real problem is, that I have 63 small database files I am working with and each one contains a single table. ( from a very old Dataflex(DOS) database) And I am building a tool that will import CSV or XML files from an export tool that I have for DataFlex, into new Access MDB files. I have done the orignal application's database export/import with Access 2003, but, I cannot lug a laptop with Access on it around to 300+ clients (hopefully) to move their data to my new application. So, I was hoping to somehow, automate a tool that I could include with my program that would first, backup their original database files and then export their .DAT database tables to either XML or CSV and then import the results into Access .mdb files to use with the new application.
It may end Up I have to go to each one and do it manually, (more money of course!) but, I was hoping to avoid some of that as they are spread all over Texas. Oh well, fun, fun, fun!
Thanks Brian and you for the help to this lurker!
