Default Installation User Interface

I added the customer information dialog to my setup. The help file for the customer information dialog says that the user information is stored in the registry. It does not say where in the registry the information was stored. To find where the information was stored i typed in a long sentence for the user name. When I searched the registry, it found the information, but I am not sure why it was listed under the keys it was listed under. It was under a key called "installer" and under that key were other keys with seemingly random letters and numbers.

How do I know where the information will be in the registry, is it always the same or not? How does the installer choose where to put the information? Is there a way to choose where in the registry the information is stored.?
