Default Registery Manipulation

Hello can anyone help me with the following:

have an application that, like many applications, should be registered, i need to keep a value that the applicatoin is not registered in the Registery, and when the user enters registration code the registery entry will change and the application will be registered. So i need a way to create, access, read and write registery entries. Can anyone help me with this issue?
 thanks in advance.
