Default how to remove web service time out ?

dear friends,

i'm using web service for vb .net.
after some time, the application that uses webservice will trigger "TIME OUT".
so how we can stop this time out problem in webservice..
so the VB .NET application can wait for hours without being
disturbed by the "web service time out"

Tks,

It would probably be better to let the service timeout, and ‘poll’ it again from .NET if the situation to complete gracefully has not yet obtained.
