Not looking for an argument at all Hal, I can see your point now. I was just browsing and was taken by surprise at the harshness of your response. I am a new user and was just a bit taken back. Shouldn't have called you arrogant maybe frustrated would have been a better word. No offence meant.

No offense hal, but had you done your homework, you would have found out that the book in question has 2 different web addresses, neither of which have the code. I would suggest rather than just lashing out at people, that maybe you could ask questions of why they can't seem to find it. Then maybe you would learn that the book has a web address that isn't applicable anymore. I just bought this book used on amazon, and actually did read it before I posted. The user had a legitimate question and was just looking for help, and not be ridiculed like a 3 year old.

January 2004... That's when the original post was made... don't we have something better to do than bring up this thread over and over again?

Daveterry, you have offended me. I know the book in question all too well. The new WROX, as I have said over and over, has provided ample instruction in many places on the web site as to how to find the code for the book. Since the book isn't even owned by the new WROX (and has not been for nearly 2 years), this is very generous of them.

At no point have I said the book had correct information in it. It does not. The company that published the book you purchased is no longer in business. The assets were purchased by two separate companies... Wiley purchased the name and a few books. The rest went to APRESS (this whole story is documented on this web site.) As explained over and over- if you go to any of the pages that provide a code download there is a FAQ on the page...(you know, by clicking on that convenient link "Need to download code? View our list of code downloads." at the top of the page) The faq clearly has a question "Why can't I find my Wrox book on your list of downloadable code?". The answer is the same one as given in this thread... and others. A small bit of research on the web site will provide people with answers.

Anyone ready to let a post nearing it's second birthday die?

Hal Levy
I am here to help you, not do it for you.
That is, unless you hire me. I am looking for work.

EDIT: I decided to just lock the thread....Much easier
