Default Listbox Values

How do I use the values within a listbox, I have a list box that populates, but it populates with duplicates, so I would like to be able to compare the values within to the value I am about to add to stop it being populated with duplicate data.

Thanks

Louisa

Default

Dim listBox as ListBox
Dim itemToAdd as string

If listBox.Items.Contains(itemToAdd) = False then
     listBox.Items.Add(itemToAdd)
End If
