Default Populate a combo box from database w/vbscript

Could some one show me or point me to an example of how to fill a combobox or dropdown box onload from a a database table using vbscript? and having done that read the selected item to a variable.
It would be greatly appreciated.

Default

I think what the confused poster was trying to say was that he wanted to populate A list or combo box in a word template using VBA, from a database. Although the former would be great if possible also. To many projects and to little brain.
thanks
