Welcome, Dave,

If you're serious about getting started in programming, go with this book. Both books are suitable for people new to programming, but this one is twice the size and can therefore cover more topics and provide a bit more depth than the other Wrox book.

The Express Edition software you've already downloaded will let you do most of the projects in this book, and all of the projects in the other book.

Good luck,
David
