Default General question about VB 2005

I have some experience in Visual Basic 6. I wish to learn Visual Basic 2005.


1. VB.NET and Visual Basic 2005 is same ? ( IS Visual Basic 2005 called VB.NET ?)

2. Is it possible to learn self (VB 2005) ? Where can i get free tutorials and help ?

3. Whether Visual Basic 2005 Supports Database programming well ? (I need data base programming)

5. Visual Basic 2005 supports bill printing in points of Sales ?


Please guide me

1. Visual Basic 2003/2005/etc are VB.NET.

2. You can teach yourself VB.NET with the right resources. There are lots of tutorials online. You can also access Wrox's online book library for lots of their beginner books on VB.NET.

3. The .NET framework has extensive support for database access. All .NET languages can use those capabilities.

4. .NET doesn't have prebuild capabilities such as point of sale bill printing, that will be up to you to create. However, there may be third party applications or tools that provide that kind of functionality.

If you don't have vb2005 on your machine, microsoft offers free 90 day trials that you can download.
