ADO.NET is the preferred way one can connect to Databases from Visual Studio (C#, .NET) etc

Here are some good links

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...21(vs.71).aspx

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/data/aa937699.aspx

Nowadays, Microsoft has released a new concept called LINQ - you can have a look at that too

Cheers

Which database?
There is mdf, ole, xml, xls, etc database.
The simpliest is mdf. U use basic binding, and for manipulation with data use the sql.
Check binding source with mdf!
