Default Can't view configs and XSD files correctly!?

Hello,

I'm using VS 2005. I used to be able to open app/web .config and XSD files and they would show up nicely formatted and color coded, etc... The XSD def's would show up graphically as tables.

Now, the XSD shows up graphically with a yellow background (where before it was blue) and the tables instead show up as XML element types, which is completely unintuitive and not the way they used to show up (tables with fields.)

The .config files now show up as a list of parameters or in some cases as just a plain text file. Same for XML files.

I've tried using some of the other editors in VS but to no avail.

Curiously, ASP page code still looks fine.

Has anyone seen this happen, how can I make these files show up properly like before??

By the way, I tried reinstalling (without uninstall) and that did not fix it.

Thank you for any advice!!

Default

Have you installed any software recently that has visual studio add-ons that might have changed the editor associated with these extensions?

If you right click a file in the solution explorer and choose "Open with..." it will show a list of all possible editors and the default marked with "(Default)". Click the editor you want to use and click the "Set as Default" button to set it back to the correct editor.
