Default Can't locate SQL Server 2000 database with Add Con

When I right-click Data Connections in the Data Explorer window, choose Add Connection, and Change Data Source to Microsoft SQL Server, the Server Name drop-down remains empty.

In SQL Server (2000) Enterprise Manager, right-clicking the database name and taking Properties > Connections shows Allow other SQL servers to connect remotely to this SQL server using RPC is checked.

The SQL Server Service Manager on my task bar indicates the service is running.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Fred Parkinson
