Default How to set a user-defined Serial Number ?

By default, the serial number in the Customer Information Dialogue is verified in a simply formula .
My question is how to set an exclusive pre-defined serial number in the design-time, and check it in the run-time?

your help will be appreciated:)

The serial number you are talking abt is that serial which used to come while installing any microsoft product or something else you are talking abt?????????
