Default Dot net deployment project

Hi all

I have created one deployment project in my windows form application in
vc++.net. During installation the setup asks for the serial number. I need to
need that serial number entered by user and put it in the registry.
How can I read any data say serial number entered by user during installation and how can I put in the registry.
I came to know that I need to create one custom action for this!!!!!!!!!!!!

any help
