Default Active Directory

We are currently using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 but are in the process of converting to Exchange. Anyways, on the 2003 server i'm trying to set it up with a VPN. I have an application that users need to be able to use outside of our network. I have gotten a connection but can't seem to figure out how to get the application to open. I have gone into active directory and put in the filename and path in the enviornment tab under a specific user. This is not helping at all. Anyone have an idea of what i'm dealing with or why i'm not able to set this up to open the fileon connection?!?!?

I face problem on how to read active directory users and groups and then store them in my data base .this operation becomes automatically updated to data base whenever new groups or users are added.
