Default People in the wrong place?

Can we just make it so forum admins can transfer a topic to the proper forum if it is posted in the wrong one? Newbies may not understand and I keep getting emails telling people to post in the right place. It is getting really annoying and is not needed. The site is confusing anyway when you first come to it. Not everyone has great English skills.

Basically if someone posts in the wrong place, can the moderator (silently) transfer it to another forum and let the person who sent it in know that it was transferred (maybe with a little instruction to them only as to why it was moved and how to properly post in a kind manner).

I am not trying to be rude to anyone, just trying to make a suggestion so we have a solution instead of telling everyone how to fix the problem each time one person makes a mistake.:)

Chris,

Forum admins CAN transfer a topic to the right place. I can move posts on forums that I moderate (Wrox Book Feedback not being one of them).

I notify each user in their own message. I do this because when I was moving posts the people didn't understand and just kept posting in the wrong forum. This way they might learn where to post properly.

Of course, this post should be on P2P feedback forum.. not here...

Something is wrong. I posted this in the feedback forum which is has correctly posted under, but I have not gotten it in email (neither my post nor Hal's reply. Not sure why it is not working. I am subscribed to the forum as a whole. All my other forum stuff has been coming in, even from this forum, just not this topic. Did I have to select the "subscribe to this topic" checkbox to get this topic when it is part of a larger forum of which I am already a member?
