Default Attribute for first element only

Hi
I am new to xml and i'm not sure of how to specify in a W3C schema that the first element only has a specific attribute.
e.g

<example>
<component firstOnly="stuff">one</component>
<component>two</component>
<component>three</component>
</example>

how to do that?
thanks.

Download a trial version of XML spy. This is a pretty useful tool, which can get you started with your work.
