Hi could any body please let me know the difference between a Webserveice and an xml file.Do we really need a wsdl or asmx file to access Xml files.Please Explain me as clearly as possible.Because i was in a lot of confusion.

There's no relationship at all between web services and XML files. A web service doesn't need any XML files, and an XML file doesn't need a web service.

Hi thanks for your reply.Actually i have an xml file and a .wsdl file.I need to get data into a web page through asp.net.Can you help me how to get the xml file data can be shown in a webpage using a webservice?

I don't understand why you need a webservice for this. Just invoke an XSLT transformation from your ASP.NET page to convert the XML file to HTML.
