Default XML database construction rules

are there specific rules to construct xml Database, like some people prefer to put dependent values in attribute forms some go for the child elements etc. so what is the best way to construct a XML databse.

For every person you ask there will be a best way.

It's up to personal preference. That is one of the simple beauties and drawbacks of XML. It is painfully flexible.
